In October 2013, I experienced a break-up, resulting in my world falling apart.
I couldn't see the way out, and I thought, should I start drinking, or maybe there was another way out? I didn't have the energy to go to the gym.
I felt severe emotional pain, and I saw myself falling lower and lower.
One day, I started experimenting and playing with some movement ideas I learned at a workshop six months before the breakup.
Almost instantly, I knew that movement would play a massive part in getting out of my pain and restructuring my life. I was right.
Many years later, I still move, exploring, experimenting, and improvising with movement.
I now offer online self-help courses, online movement coaching, and live workshops to teach what I call Real World Fitness.
Mostly I was moving around in my home, but once or twice a week, I shared facilities with the local cross-fitters.
I often felt quite stupid as I compared myself to what they were doing, but I focused on myself and my own goals, which immensely helped me.
So you see, comparing yourself to others can mess up your routines and lead you to quit. So we don't want that!
I created a solid movement practice for myself, and I still use it today to stay on top of my strength, flexibility, and movement skills.
I want to help you do the same by sharing what I know to be self-going in eventually creating your movement practice.
We are designed for movement, not training. We can adapt to training, but for optimal body function, we should move more (not necessarily exercise more, but move more).
And it is not enough to increase the quantity. Good quality movement is needed. Better, more, and more efficient movement is the future.
This process focuses on building strength, which is a prerequisite for movement. Being strong enhances movement capacity because you own every position. You'll get a plan you must follow to get the results you want later.
The focus will be on building movement sentences, which will make your practice more seamless. After working with clients for thousands of hours, I have the experience to guide you to the next level of your movement journey.
The combination of isolation and integration gives room for improvisation. Essentially you're making it up as you go. You'll get all the tools needed to create your movement practice so that you can play with movement in a fun but challenging way for further growth.
It takes away the focus of visual, gym, isolated, repetition-based fit and turns it towards being naturally, innate, functionally, and movement-based.
